This switch is great if you want to keep your PoE IP cameras and/or Mesh WiFi network working for several hours during power outages without bulky, expensive, inefficient or difficult to place AC UPS.
I am powering this switch with two series DIN-Rail mounted Meanwell DRC-100A 12Vdc UPS modules with one 18Ah battery each. This UPS runs for several hours, keeping my surveillance cameras and (TP-link Omada) Mesh WiFi working during power outages.
Mains power on our farm is quite unstable and prone to outages while cell phone coverage is just as bad, which is why keeping a working communications and surveillance system is so critical.
I used two 12V batteries in series as I'm using it to power 6 cameras with a 13Watt/camera requirement when IR lights are on at night time plus a WiFi AP, so the 80W@12Vdc limit would not have been enough. I used two 12V UPS modules instead of one 24V module to keep batteries balanced without risking battery overcharge or the need of a balancing circuit.
I love that it is DIN-Rail mountable like the Meanwell UPS modules, keeping the electrical box orderly and will make module replacement a breeze.
I have already bought the 4-port versions and more Meanwell modules to keep remote PtP AP nodes powered as to maintain connectivity during power outages in our farm.
